Secondary Glazing can be added to the internal side of existing windows, offering excellent sound proofing, draught proofing and heat retention. They are of bespoke manufacture, with slim aluminum frames and installed with hardwood sub frames for rigidity.

Listed buildings and others do not require local authority permission for installation of secondary glazing as they class these as removable items that do not affect the external appearance of buildings.

Secondary glazing offers excellent sound proofing, exceeding that offered by double glazing, if this is of paramount importance, acoustic safety glass, normally fitted to sound recording studios, can be installed at the time of manufacture. The majority of secondary glazing is single glazed, although some models can have double glazing units fitted at the manufacturing stage, and these can have heat retention glass installed. Most secondary glazing comes in a white powder coating as standard, but can have a choice of coloured and wood effect frames.
